Slow Cooker Classic Healthy Chili Recipe


On a cold winter's day, I'm always looking for an easy slow cooker recipe to make for my family and have left overs during the week.  I found this easy, hearty, chili recipe and it sounded sooooo good I wanted to share.  This classic chili is made even more simple thanks to a seasoning mix of perfectly blended organic herbs and spices.  There's also a vegetarian version if you want to leave out the meat.

Directions

  • In a large frying pan over medium heat, heat oil. Stir in garlic, peppers and onion and sauté for 4 minutes. 
  • Add beef and cook for 3 minutes or until the beef is browned.
  • Pour mixture into slow cooker. Stir in broth, tomatoes, tomato paste and seasoning mix; stir to combine.
  • Cook chili for 4-5 hours on high or 7-8 hours on low.
  • Serve with cornbread, cheese, sour cream or your favorite chili toppings.
