Everyone loves to be pampered now and then. And there is no better way to indulge and relax than going to a spa. But spas can be expensive and and some of us just don't have the time for a spa day. So here are some tips and tricks on how to give yourself a spa facial treatment at home.
Cleanse
Proper cleansing removes the dust, dirt, and pollution from your face. A good cleanser should be powerful enough to remove the excess oil, but gentle enough so that it doesn't drastically dehydrate your skin. Instead of getting generic drugstore cleansers, for better results, try a cleanser that is made especially for your skin type. Massage the cleanser in circular motions on your face for 1 - 2 minutes in circular motions and add a bit of water. This relaxes the facial muscles while allowing the product to penetrate the skin. Try: 100 Percent Pure Facial Cleansers with all natural ingredients from pure fruits and botanicals.
Exfoliate
Exfoliating the skin will get rid of the dead skin cells on the top layer of your skin and show your skin's true beauty. It increases cell turnover to give you a younger, fresher looking appearance. Microdermabrasion is a process where abrasive crystals are used on the surface of the skin. This can be a very expensive procedure in spas and also, at-home microdermabrasion kits can be costly. Instead, just use a microdermabrasion cream. Apply the cream gently on your face for only a short period of time. To avoid irritation, use up to 2 times a week. Try: Yula Organics Microdermabrasion Cream.
Facial Mask
A facial mask after exfoliation will draw out any toxins and impurities from the skin. At the same time, a good face mask will lift and cleanse your skin without dehydrating it. Look for facial masks with key ingredients like: clay, mud, seaweed, or charcoal. Try using a powdered face mask. Since they are their raw form, this decreases the need for preservatives and chemical fillers. In addition, you can mix it to a consistency of your liking and if you want to go the extra mile, you can customize it with organic, cold pressed oils like Josie Maran Organic Argan oil for extra hydration. Tip: before you remove the mask, re hydrate it with a towel for easier removal. Try: Yula Organics Facial Masque.
Tone and Moisturize
Finally, nurture and protect your skin. A toner will balance the oil on the skin to give it a softer and smoother feel, but it is a myth that everyone needs to tone. If you have oily skin, try a toner with floral water or witch hazel. However, if you have normal to dry skin, there is little need for a toner. If anything, a toner will help remove any facial mask left over from the previous step. Apply your favorite moisturizer as it will absorb better once you apply the first three steps. Try organic, cold pressed moisturizers so your skin can retain all the nutrients and glow from within like Argan oil or Shea butter.
So relax and pamper yourself. Your skin will thank you!
