How To Get Glowing Skin and Hair Naturally

One of my favourite things to do when I get ready for the day is add some glow to my skin and hair. A little glow just gives you that added touch, boots your self confidence and makes you look and feel good! Achieving that coveted glow can be from what you eat and the beauty and skincare products can help enhance it. I find the best way to achieve an overall glow is to start within.  Which means eating right, taking whole food supplements and exercising on a regular basis to remove toxins. Here are some ways to get glowing, beautiful skin and hair - naturally.

Healthy Eating
Get plenty of these antioxidant rich fruits, nuts and vegetables.  They enhance your glow from within and fight free radicals that causing pre-mature aging.  Up your consumption of anti-inflammatories like Green tea, Berries, Carrots, Tomatoes, Avocados, Dark greens: Broccoli, Spinach and Kale, Fish: Shellfish, Tuna and Salmon, Nuts and Pomegranate.

Regular Exercise
Whether it's walking, yoga, working out at the gym or just doing an exercise video.  Try to get regular exercise several times per week.  Try to do something everyday if you can but if not, at least 3-5 times per week.  Exercise burns fat and removes excess toxins we get from the foods we eat, the personal care products we use and our environment.  Since we cannot avoid them, it's best to work them out naturally through the process of exercise and diet.  It will give you a glow when you exercise on a regular basis and and an added bonus is that you'll look great and feel great too!

Healthy Skincare
Choose skincare products with only a few ingredients that are non-toxic and organic.  You can find these in store at Sephora or your local health foods store and online at Amazon.com, JosieMaranCosmetics.com and Vitacost.comWhy is this so important for glowing skin?  Because whatever you put on your skin is absorbed into your bloodstream and used in your body just it would be used by the foods you eat.

Foods that contain anti-oxidants and omega-3s will give you that glow you're looking for.  So read ingredient labels and if you cannot pronounce it, don't buy it, put it on your skin or your children's skin!  Try natural moisturizers that create a natural glow and double as an anti-aging treatment for your skin while preventing wrinkles and improving skin tone at the same time.  Try: Josie Maran Organic Argan Oil or Organic Unrefined Shea Butter .

Healthy Makeup
Choose make-up that is non-toxic, organic and contains anti-aging benefits.  When I think of beautiful, glowing skin, I think of one of natural beauty maven, Josie Maran.  She created a non-toxic, eco-friendly, high performance beauty line infused with organic argan oil.  My favorite products from the line are: Organic Argan Oil and the Bronzing Argan Oil for face, body and hair as well as the Tinted Moisturizer to enhance your glow.

For an on the go glow, try her multi-tasking Argan Color Stick in "petal pink", which is a beautiful neutral pink shade that adds a sheer wash of color for cheeks and lips.  For that "lit from within" glow, try my favorite, Argan Illuminizer.  It's great for highlighting and adding a subtle luminosity to the face, collarbone and body.  You can purchase Josie Maran Cosmetics on Josiemaran.comSephora.com or in Sephora stores and at Amazon.com.

Healthy Haircare
Choose haircare products that don't contain any harsh chemicals like Parabens, Phthalates, Dyes or Fragrances.  Some of my favorites are: Burt's Bees brand, Gud Pearnormal Activity Shampoo and Conditioner which can be purchased online or at Target stores.  It has a fantasic pear smell and contains no  parabens, phthalates or petrochemicals and is never tested on animals.  If you don't mind spending a little more money, you can try WEN Cleansing Conditioner.

WEN is a one-step conditioning cleanser that replaces your shampoo, conditioner, deep conditioner, leave in conditioner and styling products.  When used correctly, it really makes your hair look and feel like silk!  Finish your look off with a few drops of WEN Bath and Body Oil for added shine, moisture and protection.  If WEN isn't in your budget, try a natural cleansing conditioner like: L'Oreal Evercreme Cleansing Conditioner, $5.99 at Target or Walmart.  It's sulphate, silicon and paraben free, made with natural botanicals and 100% vegan and rich in natural omegas 3-9.  You can also purchase it online at Amazon.com.
